Darby and her family are Mount Pleasant natives. Growing up just a mile away from Boone Hall Plantation, it was a dream wedding location for her come true. (See future posts for all her wedding pics too, coming soon!)
Boone Hall Plantation has been here since 1681 and is famous for its “Avenue of Oaks”. Also, that is where Darby’s ceremony location will be…right there under all the iconic oak trees draped in Spanish moss. She also had a few bridal portraits (see images below) next to the plantation house, which was built to replace the original house from the 1600’s, in 1933.
For those of you not from the Charleston or Mount Pleasant area, you may recognize Boone Hall Plantation from its features in film and television from movies such as Gone with the Wind, North and South or The Notebook. (Such a romantic location, don’t you agree?)
We cannot WAIT to share images from her her Boone Hall Plantation Wedding! But for now…we are super excited to share her bridal portraits!

It’s been so tough keeping these a secret all these months! By far our favorite time to do bridal portrait sessions here in Charleston is while the azaleas are in bloom. This is usually the last couple weeks of March and/or the first couple weeks in April. (Weather might change this a little year to year.)
It was an absolutely gorgeous day and we couldn’t have asked for a more gorgeous bride! Beautiful girl, inside and out…gorgeous dress, long veil and my personal favorite place, Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. (Can we just do all our shoots here in the spring time? Please and thank you!)
Ok, ok I know you’re excited to see these pics! Chelsea, you are a completely stunning bride!

Swoon. I have traveled a LOT in my lifetime. Through South America, South Africa and Southeast Asia. And I live in “The South”. (Guess some day I should do some “northern” exploring, huh?) And though I’ve seen some beautiful world wonders…there is NO place as beautiful as Middleton Place Plantation and Magnolia Gardens in the spring time. The last week of March and first week of April, to be exact.
Old oak trees dripping in Spanish moss, and bushes on fire with all colors of azaleas in bloom. Absolutely amazing.
Adding in a GORGEOUS BRIDE oh dear me, little else can even compare! Even though I was just a few weeks postpartum c-section, I was thrilled to get to do Michelle’s bridal portraits at Middleton Place Plantation! I love everything Middleton. (I also shoot Middleton Place weddings and have done engagements there recently as well!)
Here are a few of our favorites!

The day of Tanya’s Charleston bridal portrait session, I expected beauty but did NOT expect a PINK DRESS! So much fun! This shade of muted “dusty rose” sort of pink was most recently made famous by Jessica Biel. Call me partial but I think Tanya rocked it better! In relationships, you may have heard people say “when you know you know”….well, Tanya’s love relationship with her wedding dress was the same way. She saw it in a catalog, and just knew it was THE dress for her. She bought it, having never seen it except for in the picture!
Here are a few of our favorites from her super fun session!

Thank you for stopping by to read our lil’ blog. To “read” and see another Charleston Bridal Portrait session, go here: Hanna’s bridal session in Awendaw
Here we are over a year later and we STILL are so in love with Hanna’s bridal session at RiverOaks in Awendaw! RiverOaks is one of our favorite wedding venues! It’s everything you could dream an outdoor waterfront Southern wedding could be. Right by the marsh with a dock into the Wando River! We were so excited to get to do Hanna’s bridal session there.
If your dream is a waterfront wedding, wedding by the marsh, or enjoy the water views for your guests, this is the perfect spot for you! Now all you need is an amazing Charleston Wedding Photographer…us, of course!
Isn’t Hanna the most stunning bride ever? And her dress! Swoon. Just perfect!
