The front entrance to the church has massive white columns, and the interior in no less impressive. The sanctuary has two levels, hardwood flooring, and glamorous white pews complete with doors. It’s big, it’s beautiful, and it will take your breath away.

The lower level of the First Baptist Church sanctuary alone will fit between 250 and 300 guests. Add to those numbers the 150 to 200 guests you can seat in the upper level, and you will have enough space to invite your distant relatives and more! Best of all, the church provides a parking lot and attendants, which are rare finds in the city of Charleston. Although the parking lot will accommodate a maximum of 100 cars, off-street parking is available for free on the weekends.

The fee for the First Baptist Church venue is $3,200 and includes the use of the sanctuary, candelabras, dripless candles, an organist, the ceremony coordinator, the parking lot and attendants, and the maintenance crew. Upon booking your wedding here, you have three weeks to mail in the necessary paperwork and the fee. Although the church prefers to receive the full payment at this time, the church will allow you to pay half of the cost upfront and then pay the remaining balance two months prior to the wedding. Using the church’s officiant will cost an additional $300, but you are also welcome to use the pastor from your own church. If you do use the church’s officiant, premarital counseling is not available for non-members- however, the church strongly recommends that you attend premarital counseling in your own town.

Ceremonies at this venue require the use of the church’s designated florist, Lisa Ferguson. This cost is not included in the ceremony fee. For music options, you can listen to samples online at the church’s website, www.fbcharleston.org. The website also provides ample information on the church’s wedding policies and touring the facilities.
